Remains a great option

Tried again, with consistent results.
(see my other review for more pics and detailed info)
Cheap, unpretentious and quick.
Some 14$ for two lunches.
It is un-necessary to over-eat, here: the food fills your stomach quickly.
Homemade food, with style and grease. (lire la suite)
Fair in Taste & Attractive in Price

A very interesting spot, always crowded and interestingly vintage in the decor (see pics). What I liked best were: the informal atmosphere, the 1960s seating, and especially the truly low prices. Also, I liked the lack of pretentiousness--confirmed by the fact it is closed on Sunday, so not exactly in line with the trendy weekend lunches and brunches. The menu is simple and straightforward: fried fish, burgers, sandwiches, soups and the most common side dishes (fries and cole-slaw) and fountains. They also apparently have a daily special, handwritten on a little sheet attached to each table's menu (today it was something like: soup, plate and coffee for some 9 bucks). I went for a personalized order: the canonical burger and fries. I ended up eating everything and going away in satisfaction.... (lire la suite)
