Caché derrière une petite porte sur Pico boulevard, ce petit resto est selon toute probabilité l'un des meilleur choix (pour manger en géneral -- pas seulement pour manger éthiopien) à Los Angeles. En plus, ce restaurant n'est pas encore très connu (c'est a dire colonisé) par les "yuppies" rampants qui infestent la zone de Fairfax et La Brea (et beaucoup d'autres endroits de notre ville). Le décor est familial et tranquille, et le personnel est gentil. On mange très bien avec peu de $ous. La dernière fois je n'avais pas aimé du tout le long temps d'attente mais hier, il n'y avait pas beaucoup de monde, et j'ai vraiment apprecié autant le décor et l'ambiance, que la cuisine. First reccomended to me by a native informant, Awash is definitely THE ethiopian choice in metropolitan LA. Great food, unexpensive, 'underground' enough to make it a best kept secret, polite waiters, creative, etc. PROS: low pricing, astonishing food quality (excellent!, try anything on the left side of the menu, I mean any ethiopian specialities, or the vegetarian combo - a steal!), cool atmosphere, convenient location (hidden enough to make a great impression to any angelino), and they do serve beer too! CONS: extremely long waiting, especially on the weekends (at least, they make the food on demand, and this is a good sign, but be prepared for 30 to 50 minutes of waiting.
